One Tree Hill Blog

I chose to follow a blog solely focused on the stars, their careers, and the fan craze of the famous TV series, One Tree Hill.  Being my all time favorite series, One Tree Hill was the primary option I brainstormed as something I desired to maintain contact with for many reasons.  First, I have watched every single episode several times.  I basically know the plot of every season thoroughly.  Yet, somehow the episodes never bore me because each time I discover deeper meanings to miniscule details (background song lyrics, scenery and paintings, the roles minor characters play, etc.) In my mind, they strongly contribute to the meaning of the series as a whole.  Second, the characters are portraying events and scenarios that I experience now, being a first year college student.  Sometimes, I place myself in the fictitious situations, exploring the characters’ philosophical thought, decision-making, stress, and comfort level with the sensations of being a young teenager, experiencing the world as a product of my own effort.  Independence is unsurprisingly novel to me, seeing as I have been spoon-fed all the solutions from the onset of my days in elementary school.

Each character starring in One Tree Hill has a specific story, personality, and career path.  The author influences the viewers to feel as if they have grown up with and developed close relationships with the cast.  The format of the blog is simple:  each post hones in on one character and the current struggles/successes occurring in his/her real life.   The posts encourage viewers and readers to get involved with political issues, fashion trends, education, and other impending events.  Women’s rights are a specific focus simply because a majority of the viewers are young women in their late teens, who are searching elsewhere for inspiration they discover in a fictional television series.  I feel that aside from keeping viewers updated, the blog’s main focus is to give young women the indirect guidance they need to make a difference and succeed.  I will surely be investigating for details even the experts have not yet discovered.
